Novels Appearing on the Open Response Questions

Attached you will find a list of some of the most frequently cited novels and plays on the open ended question of AP Literature Exam since 1970.  The number appearing before the title reflects the number of times that the work was referenced.

Again, you will choose at least one of these works to read and complete a Major Works Data Sheet for it.  If you feel like an over-achiever, I definitely encourage you to read more of the books on the list.  The more you read, the better, both for the exam and for you.

Ms. Borges, if we choose to read more books from the list, do we also have to fill out a major works data sheet for each? Or just the books you require? Thanks

The major works data sheet will be VERY helpful when you begin to study for the exam. So, it would be a good idea for you to fill it out for additional reading. However, you are not required to do so for extra books that you read. I will collect the MWDS for Oedipus and the book/novel of your choice and the notes for How o Read Literature.

Ms. Borges, for any extra books we decide to read from the reading list, does a Major Works data sheet have to be filled out for these extra books as well?
